Spring Wood Badge

ONLY SPOTS LEFT!

Why do you want to go?

You want to participate in a Wood Badge course because of things you will learn and do. Here are some of the benefits:

  • Stronger units. You will make your Scouting unit — and your sons’ and daughters’ units — stronger.
  • What and why of Scouting. You will have a deeper understanding of what Scouting is and why we do it.
  • Experience. You will learn and experience things that will stay with you in Scouting and the rest of your life.
  • Fun. You will have fun and you will meet interesting people.
  • Other groups. You will make your other groups, like work, church, even family, stronger.

Mt Rubidoux IOLS this past weekend

Avengers Assemble at Camporee!

Troop Avenger assembled at the Mt. Rubidoux District Camporee that was held at Lake Perris. Actually, it was the 13 participants from all over the council enrolled in Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS). They formed two patrols (with flags and yells!): Deadly Black Widows and Fearless Hulks. Not only did they learn the skills to lead Scouts in the outdoors but they participated in two camporee games! By forming patrols and competing as them, they learned more about the patrol method and how to effectively use it in the troop. All of the participants were either troop committee members, transitioning from Webelos or assistant Scoutmasters.  They learned a lot from the trainers, comprised of Scouters, merit badge counselors and a team from Jurupa Mountains Discovery Center. They learned a lot while having lots of fun! Loki, watch out!
